Welcome to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) oversees key continuous improvement activities at the university, including assessment, accreditation, academic program review (for both specialized and non-specialized programs), and annual reporting. Led by the interim dean, the office supports departments through data-informed planning, coordination of program reviews and accreditation processes, and alignment with North Park’s mission and distinctives. These efforts are central to fostering academic excellence and institutional accountability and are described in greater detail below.
Institutional Effectiveness: Assessment, Accreditation, and Faculty Support
The OIE supports »Ê¹Ú²©²Ê’s mission to prepare students for lives of significance and service by advancing academic quality, faculty development, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Office of the Provost, the OIE—under the leadership of the interim dean of Institutional Effectiveness—oversees both institutional and specialized accreditation processes and coordinates the university’s five-year academic program review cycle. The interim dean works closely with departments to provide review calendars, updated report templates, and access to institutional data via the informer dashboard, while also supporting the use of external reviewers and integration of findings into planning and budgeting.
The OIE facilitates assessment across academic and co-curricular programs, offering training, templates, and feedback to support evidence-based improvement. Through this work, the interim dean and the OIE help shape a mission-aligned learning community rooted in North Park’s distinctively Christian, city-centered, and intercultural identity.
